The Chametz is a love letter to our Yiddish heritage, while firmly (and slightly irreverently) saying
"We got it from here.”

Located in the Western Maine mountains, built by hospitality professionals, farmers, and craftspeople, The Chametz is shaped by lived experience rather than trends. Our work draws on decades in fine dining, agriculture, and operations, guided by the belief that exceptional meals begin long before the table is set. Every system—from sourcing to service—is designed to support the land, the people who steward it, and the guests who dine with us.

PLANNING YOUR VISIT

Experiences include a fine dining prix-fixe dinner with your choice of pairings and roundtrip transportation within 1 hr of our secret location in the Western Maine woods. Gratuity is not included.

What is included in the experience?

Reservations are requested rather than instantly confirmed. When you book, you will be asked your preference of three dining dates. Once a request is submitted, our team reviews group size, location, and logistics before confirming your seating. You will receive an email and text once your booking is confirmed. This allows us to preserve the integrity of the experience for every guest.

What is the reservation process?

Where are you located?

We are located in the Western Maine mountains, about 30 minutes from Sugarloaf Mountain , 45 minutes from Rangeley Lakes and 15 minutes from University of Maine at Farmington. We do not disclose our location, but we will pick you up either from your designated pickup location within 1 hour drive of us, or at our satellite parking location, which is provided at the time of reservation.

A deposit is required to confirm your reservation and is applied toward your dining experience. Details, including cancellation terms, are shared at the time of reservation confirmation.

Do I pay a fee to reserve?

Can you accomodate dietary restrictions?

We can accommodate many dietary needs with advance notice. Because our menus change daily and are shaped by what the land provides, requests must be submitted at the time of booking. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate last-minute changes.

Due to the small scale of our seatings, cancellations impact the entire system—from the kitchen to the farm. Cancellation terms are clearly outlined at the time of confirmation, and we appreciate advance notice whenever possible.

What if I need to cancel?

Seating is released in limited windows and announced as dates become available. Because our menus are driven by seasonality and harvest, reservations are not opened far in advance. We recommend joining our mailing list to be notified when new dates are released.

How far in advance can I book a table?

The Chametz is a fully worker-owned business collective, which means all of our employees are on track for co-ownership. This means that when you dine with us, you are injecting properity into the local economy by supporting local workers and local farmers.

How long is an experience?

Experiences vary in length on the nightly offering. You can expect to spend about 3 hours dining, plus travel time to and from our secret location.

Is the experience appropriate for children?

Our experience is a 3+ hour long culinary journey for advanced palates and is not suitable for most children. However, you know your child better than anyone, so we leave that decision to the parents.

Experiences are currently $220. This includes roundtrip transportation to and from your location of choice and a prix-fixe 7-course dinner with your choice of beverage pairings.
